DSAC says food and other items may be donated
until Dec. 5, the last day of classes
Arnold School students, staff and faculty are again working on behalf
of the Harvest Hope Food Bank to help the less fortunate during a
struggling economy.
Setting an example, students in Dr. Kara Montgomery’s Applied Aspects
of Human Nutrition class raised money and volunteered their time to this
year’s efforts.
The students were moved to action by the Harvest Hope’s “Feed Your
Neighbor” campaign, launched in October.
After raising $90 over two class periods, the students also worked
for two hours at the Bank’s Shop Road warehouse assembling 150 boxes of
food.
To the delight of the group, one of the students arrived with a $250
donation that her sorority raised by staging a dress-down day.
The Dean's Student Advisory Council (DSAC) has placed collection
barrels in public areas where other donations may be placed until Dec.
5, the last day of classes.
The barrels are on the first floor of the Health Sciences Building,
the first floor lobby of the Public Health Research Center and the USC
Speech and Hearing Center at Middleburg Office Park.
